I am a seasoned software developer, tech lead, and mentor based in Kisumu, Kenya, specializing in Ruby on Rails. I have worked with Ruby for close to a decade, but still approach it with a day-one mindset, driven by the belief that there is always more to learn, build, and improve. I have deep hands-on experience in API security, cloud infrastructure, and database systems ranging from PostgreSQL to Neo4j. Beyond Ruby, I have taken a keen interest in Zig and am currently undertaking the 1000 Days of Zig (https://kamalogudah.github.io/tags/#1000daysofzig) challenge, bringing a systems-level perspective to my work. I also contribute to developer education through interactive learning resources and active tech community building.
